SPAIN PROPERTY SALES RISE BY 19.1% IN 2014 ACCORDING TO SPANISH NOTARIES

19.1% YEAR ON YEAR INCREASE IN NUMBER OF SPANISH HOME SALES ACCORDING TO THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF (SPANISH) NOTARIES

The General Council of (Spanish) Notaries has reported a 19.1% year on year increase in the total number of property transactions. During 2014 364,601 properties were exchanged according to the latest statistics released by the General Council of Notaires.

290,441 apartments were sold in 2014, a year on year increase of 17.3%. There was a reduction in the number of new apartments sold of 9.6% while the number of resale apartments exchanged increased by 23.5%. 74,160 family homes were exchanged, a year on year increase of 26.8%.
