Orihuela Costa Preparing for Wednesday Party

Orihuela local police will have a stronger presence on the coast on Wednesday, with support from the Guardia Civil, in preparation for a situation that many of the local residents dread.

On the first Wednesday of August, thousands of partygoers from all across the local descend on the area for a beach party, leaving their mess behind the morning after.

In Friday´s plenary session, the government team agreed to ask for more police and security services to be present, as well as promising stronger fines for such events which take place in smaller scales throughout the year, and an increase in cleaning the next day.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
