WOMAN FALLS FROM BALCONY IN TORREVIEJA

The Guardia Civil is investigating the case of a 65 year old woman who was rushed into Torrevieja Hospital after falling from the balcony of a block of flats on the Avenida de las Habaneras on Tuesday.

Fortunately the drop was cushioned slightly when she landed on the bonnet of a car which was parked below.

A unit from SAMU attended the incident along with officers from the Policia Local and the Guardia Civil. She was accompanied to the hospital by her daughter.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
