SLIGHT EARTHQUAKE ON ORIHUELA COSTA

The quake occured just after 6am this (Wednesday) morning

A minor earthquake was felt first thing in the morning in Torrevieja and on the Orihuela Costa. The National Geographic Institute (ING) said that the quake occurred at 6.04 am with a magnitude of 1.3 with its epicenter south of the coastal area of La Veleta.

The ING announced the tremor after receiving several calls of confirmation from the area. Normally earthquakes below magnitude 1.5 are not perceived by the population.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
