Due to the effectiveness of Local Police Forces, we normally have a very low amount of crime reported in our area,
However, during the summer holiday period when we have very large numbers of visitors, as happens throughout the east coast of Spain, others visit with the intent of lining their own pockets by robbing others and spoiling their time here.
This has recently been experienced on our beaches where people had their handbags snatched, the thieves making a quick escape in awaiting getaway cars.
We want our visitors to enjoy their time here, and they can by only bringing things to the beaches which they will need and leave handbags out of sight where they are staying. When in the water or in our beach bars never leave anything unattended and if travelling to the beach by car, never leave anything on view in the car. Also never leave keys passports or money in the car.
If you see anything suspicious please let the Police know immediately by calling 112 where you can speak in Spanish, English, German or Scandinavian. Providing the call is made in good faith the Police welcome all calls.
Should you need help the attendants in the beach bars are there to help you. They are able to speak in many languages.
