Officers from the local police in Ames have disguised themselves as pilgrims in order to catch an exhibitionist reported for lewd behaviour along the religiously important Camino de Santiago. Responding to complaints from walkers that a male had been seen on numerous occasions “performing obscene gestures and acts of exhibitionism” along the route. Unable to locate or identify the man, the police decided to set a trap by pretending to be pilgrims and in a very short time witnessed hat they had been warned about. The police identified themselves to the man and warned him of the consequences of his actions, and the added seriousness should such actions be performed in the presence of children or those with mental disabilities.
