In anticipation of the expected heavy rains that seem to create chaos in Torrevieja on an annual basis the water Company Agamed have begun work on a series of storm channels along the side of the Torrevieja-Crevillente CV-905 road.
The work will take in the stretch of road adjacent to la Urbanización Torreta III, the entrance to the Parque Natural next to vía verde and la calle Golondrina, to the junction of the N-332 at la Urbanización Doña Inés.
The mayor said that the works will cover a total area of 35,000 sq mtrs, all of which will be treated with herbicides in order to delay the onset of plant growth and enable water to flow more freely.
The work is expected to be completed within 2 weeks
