Six officers from the National Police have been arrested in Cartagena in connection with the discovery of the body of a man in Cartagena in March.
The body of the man was discovered floating in the water in a cove not far from Cartagena, with an examination revealing he had suffered violence prior to death.
The family of the man reported him missing on the 13th of March, saying that he had left the home address two days earlier and had not been heard from since. His body was discovered a few days later at Cala Cortina.
A statement from the Directorate General of Police reveals that the arrests of the six National Police officers are under an open investigation into the disappearance and subsequent discovery of the body of a male, with clear evidence of violence ante mortem.
Officers from both the National and Judicial police are investigating the facts, whilst court number 4 of Cartagena has issued a secrecy notice on the proceedings.
