The Universidad Europea has opened its new University Dental Clinic in Alicante, featuring facilities spanning more than 2,300 square metres with a capacity for 40 surgeries. The centre combines dental care for the public with the practical training of students studying for the Degree in Dentistry.
Located in the NOBO centre at 17 Calle Ocaña, at the junction with Calle Río Júcar, the clinic provides a space where students carry out their clinical placements under the supervision of teaching staff.
Equipment and specialities will grow in phases. The new infrastructure features digital radiology, specialised equipment and an imaging area equipped with orthopantomography and CBCT. It also incorporates magnification systems using microscopes.
The Universidad Europea has planned phased growth, meaning the incorporation of equipment and specialities will adapt to teaching and healthcare needs. This opening expands the spaces dedicated to dental training in the province, where the CEU dentistry facilities project has also been developed in Elche.
To facilitate teaching supervision, the clinical teaching units are grouped into sets of four surgeries. According to the institution, this layout allows teaching staff to closely monitor students’ work and carry out continuous assessment.
The university explains that the model aims to combine practical learning with patient support, bringing together professionals, teachers and researchers specialised in various areas of dentistry.
Rosa Sanchidrián, rector of the Universidad Europea de Valencia, emphasised that the opening broadens students’ training opportunities while strengthening the institution’s capacity to provide dental care to the Alicante community. The objective is to bring training closer to professional practice through a space that integrates teaching and healthcare activity.
