On the 16th July the Mayor of Alicante, Mrs. Sonia Castedo Ramos, the Business Secretary Mrs. Belén González and Employment Secretary Mr. Carlos Castillo were all present for the official opening of Dealz Alicante on Calle de Castellar, 3.
Dealz is part of Europe’s biggest single price discount retailer Poundland and brings amazing value everyday to consumers by offering top brands for less at a time when households are trying to survive on a tight budget. The opening of the Alicante store introduces Dealz’s unique shopping experience to Spain with the majority of products retailing at 1.50€, plus a clean, bright shopping environment with friendly customer service. The store in Alicante marks the second step in the Group’s plan to trial approximately 10 stores in Spain over a two year period, following the launch of their Torremolinos store on the Costa del Sol in July.
During her opening speech the Mayor commented; “I feel proud that this International brand has come to Alicante, not only to have a new shop for the people in the city to enjoy, but also because it’s creating jobs, contributing to the variety of shopping on offer and also enriching and improving our economy. On behalf of the Town Hall we congratulate Dealz on the opening of this first store in the region and wish them every success. I look forward to seeing them open many more!”
