Dozens of people spent last Sunday morning out in the fresh air contributing to an extremely worthwhile cause. They were providing their assistance and support to the ADIEM Vega Baja (Association for the Protection and Integration of People with Mental Illness) who were organising sports and fitness activities on the Paseo Vista Alegre for a large number of their members.
Most of the sessions took the form of fitness classes with instructors from many of the town’s gymnasiums and fitness centres as members of the public each contributed 5 euros toward ADIEM funds.
The numbers were also increased by over 80 spectators who joined in with the classes as they were passing by.
The session began with one of the more popular dance routines, the zumba, followed by’SH’BAM’ , ‘body combat’ and ‘Forward 62’, four fitness disciplines, each requiring participants to be increasingly proficient.
Those instructors who provided their assistance at the session came from the O2 Arena Alicante, Sport. In, Marajal Sport, Selfa’s Center, Maxx Gym and Club Nautico de Torrevieja Real gyms, which also attracted many of its regular users.
