Air Nostrum, the franchised regional airline of Iberia, will connect Alicante with the French town of Carcassonne this summer, with flights from 149 euro return, all inclusive.
The company will operate the new route with a weekly flight in each direction from the 20th of June until the 24th of August, aimed at leisure travel for both residents of southern France who plan to enjoy the Alicante beaches, and those from Spain wanting to visit the famous fortified city.
Carcassonne is known for its walled citadel, a fortified architectural complex of medieval origin that was restored in the nineteenth century with monumental purposes and is one of the most visited cities in France, especially since UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site.
Meanwhile, Norwegian airline will launch a new route to Nice in France from Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez airport from March, linking the Spanish capital with its first French connection every Thursday and Sunday, flown on their third Boeing 727 to be located at its base in Madrid.
