The Fundación Quirón have announced this week that during their “Operación Kilo” campaign, they collected a total of 1,700 kilos of food, clothing and school supplies in their hospitals and health centres during the Christmas period.
It is the fourth time that the foundation has conducted an annual collection drive, which has allowed the items to be distributed to those more in need in the vicinity of their hospitals, including children, youths, senior citizens and families at risk of social exclusion, poverty or destitution.
In a statement, both the Fundación Quirón and Grupo Hospitalario Quirón extended their gratitude to all those who donated to the campaign, or collaborated in any way, as well as their own professionals who have voluntarily taken part in the scheme.
On a local level, all items collected at the Hospital Quirón Torrevieja have been donated to Alimentos Solidarios, a much deserving charity dedicated to helping those in need in and around Torrevieja.
