Spanish mega company Inditex, the firm behind such high street brands as Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius and Oysho, will donate 1.2 million euro towards humanitarian aid to assist those affected by the Nepalese earthquake which has taken the lives of thousands of people.

The money will be shared through three main bodies, Cruz Roja, Oxfam Intermón and Cáritas.

Founding businessman of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, has a personal fortune of 69.1 billion dollars, and sits in fourth place in the 2015 Forbes list of the richest people in the world.

Meanwhile, a total of twelve Fire fighters from Málaga, Córdoba, Alicante, Albacete and Zarauz, along with two dogs, have departed Spain as part of the Bomberos Sin Fronteras organisation to offer direct assistance on the ground in Nepal, as part of the international rescue efforts
