
Thousands of people from all over the region were in Pilar de la Horadada last weekend for the fourth annual Sevillanas Fair.
“The event is an important occasion in the town’s social calendar. It is an opportunity for groups and associations to become involved with each other, to work together in support of the fair and the many people who attend" said Mayor Jose Fidel Ros
Friday night saw the lights turned on after which there were three days of festivities, music, dancing and of course lots of food and drink. The main event occurred on Saturday evening with the appearance of los “Cantores de Híspalis” who sang to an audience of very nearly 2000 people.
People were also able to enjoy the horses and carriages that were regularly crossing the fairground.
The Festival Councillor, Asunción Sánchez, said that " each year there are activities that are absolutely essential to the festival, and certainly the offering of flowers to the Virgin of Pilar, the Mass Rociera and the sevillanas contest are an integral part in an event that is becoming increasingly popular.
