Orihuela Costa Beach Record

The beaches of the Orihuela Costa have been awarded 8 Blue Flags for quality this year, along with an additional 2 for the marinas, meaning that the 10 Blue Flags they hold make Orihuela the municipality with the most awards in the Region.

Whilst the standard marks the beaches of Orihuela as being particularly high, it is also the first time in the history of the municipality that they have been awarded so many flags, beating the previous record of 9.

Meanwhile, both neighbouring Torrevieja and Elche have been award 5 Blue Flags for their beaches.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
