The Department of the Environment in Torrevieja has launched a parkland observation project in which 32 cyclists will routinely patrol the protected parkland of La Mata and Torrevieja looking for and reporting incidents of environmental and other concerns in order to preserve the ecological values ​​of this protected natural area, preventive monitoring of forest fires and promoting the implementation of best practices in nature in order to protect the area.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
