The Torrevieja health department registers nine deaths from Covid in the last two weeks

Nine people have died from Covid-19 in the Torrevieja health department in the last two weeks, according to official data from the Ministry of Health.

Of the nine, seven died in the last week of July and two in the first week of August.

At the University Hospital of Torrevieja there are 24 patients admitted with coronavirus.

It should be noted that the health area has multiplied its population in recent weeks with the arrival of tourists, which health experts expect will result in another spike in infections, hospitalisations, and deaths.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
