Torrevieja Intends to Protect Iconic Seafront Building

Torrevieja town hall is taking steps to protect an icon seafront building in the town, the “El Tintero” kiosk restaurant at playa del Cura, by classifying the building an Asset of Local Relevance.

The first stage, which has been approved already, is the tender for a contract worth 10,890 euro to draft and prepare the report to have the building included in the catalogue of historic buildings.

“El Tintero” is a unique and original building by the sea, which has more than 80 years of history and is part of the urban landscape of Torrevieja.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
