A 66-year-old man died today, Friday 6th November, in a traffic collision recorded on the N-332 road as it passed through El Altet, in Elche. After receiving notification of the incident, the Information and Coordination Centre of Urgencies mobilised a unit of the Urgent Medical Aid Service to the scene to treat the casualty.
Bridge
As the collision occurred in the vicinity of the bridge, the Local Police redirected drivers towards the road linking with the Alicante-Elche airport and which also connects with the urban centre of the town to avoid a traffic jam of cars at the scene of the incident where ambulances deployed.
Failed manoeuvres
Once at the scene, the medical team performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres on the man, although the efforts of the paramedics yielded no result and they could do nothing for his life, with the death being confirmed. For the moment, no further details have transpired regarding the circumstances in which the collision occurred.
