Following reports of “ground instability” in the port area in Torrevieja, an area currently undergoing transformation work, The Torrevieja funfair will be moving to the Parque Antonio Soria.
Representative from the town hall met with the carnies to try to find a suitable location as a result of the problems in the traditional area, and the Parque Antonio Soria was decided on, with the town hall footing the bill for the electrical installations required to run the funfair.
It is normal for the “mobile” funfair to move to make way for events such as the May Fair, and whereas that event has been cancelled and instead will be run as a “tribute” in the Torrevieja railway station park, the funfair will have a much more spacious location near to the Friday market and water park.
There have been attempts to move the funfair to this area in the past, none of which came to fruition, but now it is seen as a more attractive location.
