Zenia Boulevard, the largest shopping centre in Alicante province, has unveiled a packed September schedule combining creativity, entertainment and community spirit. The highlight will be the centre’s 13th anniversary party on Saturday 27 September, under the theme “An Anniversary Like a Movie.”
Sustainable Fashion for Children
On Saturday 13 September, children will have the chance to become “mini designers” at the Greenwalk Kids workshop. Running from 17:30 to 20:30, the session will teach participants how to create accessories and clothing from recycled materials collected within the centre itself. Each child will leave with a diploma recognising them as a “Sustainable Mini Designer.” The workshop is open exclusively to members of the Zenia Kids Club.
An Anniversary to Remember
Two weeks later, the centre will host a full day of free activities for its 13th anniversary. The programme begins at 10:00 with a special breakfast for Zenia Club members and new sign-ups. At 14:00, visitors can enjoy a slice from a giant pizza of over 500 portions at the Puerta del Mar Menor. Later, at 17:00, the “Cronómetro 13” challenge will test participants’ timing skills, with €150 gift cards for those who stop the clock at exactly the right moment.
The day will close in style at 19:00 with “Grease, The Musical” in the Plaza Mayor, a live show featuring music, big-screen projection and free popcorn for all attendees. Entry is open but subject to capacity.
Promotions and Giveaways
From 13 to 27 September, customers can exchange receipts totalling €50 or more for “scratch and win” cards with the chance to claim exclusive gifts. Limited-edition anniversary mugs will also be available to collect during this period.
The celebrations will include contributions from well-known local and international brands, such as Miramira, Bombon Boss, Geladeria Carte d’Or, Terraza, Café Olé, Maison Açaí, Mi Perfume, Inspiral, La Laguna and Salgado Dental Institute.
A Landmark for the Costa Blanca
Since opening in 2012, Zenia Boulevard has become a landmark shopping and leisure destination, attracting over 15 million visitors in 2024. Its recent €18 million refurbishment included improvements to façades, paving, rest areas, green spaces, restaurant zones and children’s play areas, reaffirming its position as the region’s leading retail hub.
Let’s Look Back to 2012
As part of the celebrations, here at ThisIsTorrevieja, we have scanned through our archive and dug out some of the images from those first weeks when Zenia Boulevard opened. Whilst we were there, we also pulled out a few other images from around the area from September 2012. Do you remember any of these? Or can you spot some of the locations around Torrevieja?
