Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline with the most passengers and an operating base at Alicante-Elche airport, has announced that it would start a new direct route to Venice Marco Polo (Italy) in the summer of 2026.
Starting on September 1st, 2026, the new route will have four flights a week in September and three flights a week in October. In September, flights will leave on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. In October, they will only leave on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays.
The Irish airline is responding to Wizz Air’s statement on March 12th that it will start flying the same route on September 15th. This makes the competition between the two businesses even stronger in the Italian market from Alicante-Elche.
Ryanair will continue to fly between Alicante-Elche Airport and Treviso Airport in Venice three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, in addition to this new route. The two airports work well together.
