A new incarnation of the May Fair will be held in Torrevieja from Thursday, May 7th to Sunday, May 10th. This event is one of the most significant on the local festive calendar and is one of the most popular and crowded celebrations in the province of Alicante.
Antonio Soria Park will once again be the site of a four-day event that unites tradition, music, dance, gastronomy, and a festive ambiance, attracting thousands of attendees each spring for one of the municipality’s most representative festivals.
The May Fair of Torrevieja, which has been designated a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest, has become one of the most renowned spring celebrations on the Costa Blanca. It is distinguished by its ability to attract, its popular origins, and its tourist projection.
The poster for this year’s event is characterised by a contemporary and elegant design, featuring a female figure who is clad in traditional Andalusian attire. The composition is presented in shades of blue and violet. The event’s festive ambiance and essence are reflected in the visual concept, which seamlessly integrates tradition and modernity. This event has become a firmly established component of Torrevieja’s spring celebrations.

The May Fair will be transformed into a lively community gathering place by the presence of 13 participating organisations, which will operate a total of 15 exhibits at the fairgrounds this year. As in previous years, the municipal exhibit will support Alimentos Solidarios (Food Solidarity) and will have its own program of events, which can be accessed through the Torrevieja City Council’s social media channels.
In the same vein, Punto Violeta will be present at the fairgrounds this year, providing a platform for information, awareness, and support to further the cause of secure, equal, and gender-free celebrations.
This year’s programme will once again highlight the talent of Torrevieja’s dance academies and schools, which are essential components of its identity and key participants in the May Fair. The fair will be transformed into a grand showcase of the level and vibrancy of dance in the city as Mery Dance Academy, the Torrevieja Municipal Dance School, Soul Dance, Paya’s Dance School, QK Dance Academy, and Ángela Esteban Dance School take to the main stage to showcase the work, dedication, and artistic potential of local talent.

The Torrevieja anthem will be performed by the UMT band during the inauguration ceremony, which will conclude with a fireworks display, thus kicking off a four-day celebration. The City Council will honour the State Security Forces during the opening ceremony for their ongoing commitment to public safety and their efforts to ensure the safety of all attendees, particularly at large events like the May Fair.
The program features exceptional musical performances that will further enhance the allure of this edition, in addition to the involvement of local academies. La Cuarta Cuerda, one of the most promising emerging groups in the current flamenco-pop and rumba scene, will take the stage on Friday. With over 212,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 101,800 monthly listeners on Spotify, the group’s repertoire is characterised by a strong rhythm that resonates particularly well with young audiences.
Raya Evolution, a group that is composed of members of Raya Real, a renowned and highly acclaimed band with a long and distinguished career in rumba and Andalusian festive music, will be performing on Saturday. Raya Real has been a fixture on stages and at celebrations throughout Spain for decades. Audiences will have the opportunity to recall some of the most renowned and celebrated songs of multiple generations during their performance. Furthermore, the program will include a traditional Rocío Mass, a parade of horsemen and carriages, a horse display, and the final of the Copla Competition, which is organised by the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti.” This diverse lineup is suitable for all ages.
