Orihuela Town Hall, through the Department of Tourism, has taken a new step to promote digitalisation and improve visitor service by installing modern technological equipment in the Tourist Info office in Orihuela Centro and at the Town Hall in Orihuela Costa. This action, part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan at Destination (PSTD), is 100% funded by the European Union through Next Generation EU funds.
In this regard, the Councillor for Tourism, Gonzalo Montoya, highlighted that it seems essential for the tourism offices to have the latest technologies in their work to offer visitors the best possible service.
The intervention has consisted of deploying three cutting-edge solutions aimed at optimising the user experience. In the Tourist Info office in Orihuela Centro, an interactive touch table equipped with an integrated computer system has been installed, allowing tourists and residents to intuitively, quickly and visually consult the entire range of cultural, monumental and leisure resources in the municipality. In this same location within the historic centre, a large 75-inch monitor has been launched, dedicated to broadcasting digital signage content and institutional information.

Meanwhile, at the Town Hall in Orihuela Costa, the 32-inch screen of the outdoor kiosk has been replaced and renewed. To guarantee maximum efficiency and continuity of service, the work included updating the internal hardware and implementing a high-stability configuration designed to support uninterrupted operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7). In this way, the terminal located at the Orihuela Costa Town Hall ensures permanent access to tourist information for the destination, such as event schedules, directories and maps.
With this new equipment, Orihuela reaffirms its commitment to consolidating itself as an intelligent, sustainable and diversified tourist destination, promoting the enhancement of its cultural resources and socially and economically revitalising the territory in a more balanced way.
