Torrevieja Local Government Board has awarded the contract for the project drafting and project management for the construction of the future San Roque Civic Centre and the urban regeneration of its surrounding area.
The contract has been awarded to local architect Francisco Juárez Pozuelo for 157,948.19 euro including VAT. This figure represents an eight per cent reduction compared to the initial tender budget. The contract covers the preparation of all required technical documentation as well as site supervision during the subsequent construction phase.
The initiative forms part of the Integrated Action Plan for Torrevieja under the Local Integrated Development Strategy. The project is 60 per cent co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
The future civic facility will feature a building of approximately 700 square metres set over two floors. It will be situated on a plot covering nearly 1,900 square metres, which will also undergo urban renewal to create an accessible public space for local residents. The overall estimated budget for executing the construction work stands at 1,517,079.82 euro.
Once the contract is formalised, the successful bidder will have a maximum timeframe of 18 weeks, equivalent to four and a half months, to complete and secure approval for the technical plans. Following the approval of the project design, the municipal council will proceed to tender the actual construction works.
