Members of the Hoguera Molinos del Calvario gathered at the Casino de Torrevieja on the evening of 25 July to officially proclaim the new board of directors that will lead the festive commission over the next four years.
The newly appointed committee is headed by President Nuria Martí de Oro, alongside Vice President María Dolores Moh Moreno, Secretary Enrique Pacheco Serrano, and Treasurer Manuel Francisco Martí Pascual. Serving as committee voting members are Inma Morales Vera, Sonia Ribeiro Murcia, Silvia de Oro Casco, and Ramón Martínez Costa.
The incoming leadership enters the 2026 to 2030 term with immense enthusiasm and a firm commitment to revitalising the group. The team aims to restore the prominence and distinctive essence that have long defined the Hoguera Molinos del Calvario, raising the profile of the celebration and actively strengthening the wider Hogueras de San Juan festivities in Torrevieja.
Key priorities for the term include establishing a close working relationship with the Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja, as well as collaborating with cultural, social, and festive associations across the town to drive joint initiatives that enhance community life. Emphasising open communication and broad participation, the board intends to build a vibrant, inclusive celebration accessible to all local residents.
In addition, the commission plans to expand its membership base and encourage local involvement, ensuring both members and neighbours can enjoy traditional celebrations built on camaraderie and community spirit. With the combined backing of commission members, the local community, and the Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja, the board expressed strong confidence in building a solid future for the Hoguera Molinos del Calvario and expanding the presence of the Hogueras de San Juan across Torrevieja.
