Torrevieja Municipal Theatre hosts two very different stage productions this weekend, featuring a Candlelight tribute concert to Coldplay and Imagine Dragons alongside the performance of the comedy play Lo que callamos a los 30. The first event takes place this Friday, 21st August, at 19:00, while the second will be staged on Sunday, 23rd August, at 21:00. Tickets are available on the Cultura Torrevieja website, the company managing the cultural programme for Torrevieja Town Council, starting at 13 euros for the concert and 22 euros for the play.
Friday’s concert adapts some of the most famous songs by Coldplay and Imagine Dragons into a string quartet format. The Salzillo Quartet will perform a repertoire including tracks such as Clocks, Fix You, The Scientist, A Sky Full of Stars, and Viva la Vida, alongside Imagine Dragons pieces, including Radioactive, Thunder, Bad Liar, and Believer. The production maintains the signature Candlelight visual atmosphere, featuring a stage setting illuminated entirely by candles, with an expected running time of one hour.
The programme continues on Sunday with Lo que callamos a los 30, a comedy built around secrets, half-truths, and increasingly untenable situations. The plot centres on three female friends who regularly gather under the pretext of a book club to speak without filters about things they conceal in their daily lives. The unexpected arrival of one friend’s daughter disrupts this balance, triggering a chain of excuses, improvised lies, and misunderstandings.
Mercedes Salvadóres, Lara Dibildos, and Fran Antón lead the cast, joined by Amor Romeira and Miriam Vázquez. The production relies on relatable humour and the contrast between what the main characters project and what they actually hide in their family, romantic, and social relationships.
Tickets can be purchased at www.culturatorrevieja.com. For Lo que callamos a los 30, tickets will also be available at the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre box office.
