National Police officers in Alicante have arrested a 33-year-old man who was wanted under an International Arrest Warrant issued by the Russian authorities for offences relating to coercion and prostitution.
The requesting country issued the order after suspecting that the fugitive might be living in Denia. The National Police in Denia became aware of the warrant through Interpol, as reported by the force in an official statement.
Following this notification, officers launched an investigation to establish his whereabouts. Members of the Judicial Police successfully located the individual, verified his identity, confirmed that an active International Arrest Warrant was registered against him, and subsequently carried out his arrest.
The events that led to the arrest warrant took place between 2020 and 2021 in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. The fugitive was allegedly part of a criminal organisation dedicated to the illegal production of pornographic content via live internet broadcasts.
Within the group structure, he was reportedly responsible for selecting and training the women who participated in the broadcasts, as well as supervising the output, according to police sources.
To run the illicit operation, the organisation utilised several premises, computer and audiovisual equipment, and a website through which pay-per-view broadcasts were streamed. This activity generated substantial financial profits that were later distributed among its members.
For these alleged crimes, the man faces a potential sentence of up to ten years in prison. The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction of the Audiencia Nacional, the judicial body responsible for managing the procedures for his extradition.
