Elche is celebrating the second edition of its Technology Week until Friday, October 2nd. Promoted by the Elche City Council, the initiative aims to bring technology closer to all citizens through a variety of informative, educational and leisure activities tailored for diverse audiences.
The Councillor for Economic Development, Samuel Ruiz, emphasised that the main goal is to bring technology closer to everyone, creating spaces for learning, interaction and entertainment. He noted the ambition to make Elche a benchmark for technology, innovation and the attraction of talent.
Throughout the week, numerous activities will take place across different locations in Elche. Highlights include workshops focused on Math Magic, Alan Turing and Matrices in Action hosted at l’Escorxador, alongside an astronomical observation session at the Paseo de la Estación.
The programme also features specialised training courses, such as artificial intelligence and social networks applied to the restaurant industry at the CDT-School of Hospitality. Additional sessions at the Business Development Centre cover topics like artificial intelligence for finance, prompt management and client acquisition strategies for LinkedIn.
Furthermore, citizens will have the opportunity to view an unmanned helicopter up close, which will be on display near the Elche Congress Centre.
A central pillar of the Technology Week will be the third edition of PalmeraTech, recognised as the leading technology congress in the province of Alicante, scheduled for October 1st and 2nd at the Elche Congress Centre. The congress will gather national and international speakers, provide networking spaces and host activities designed to foster connections among professionals, local businesses and the public. Attendees can also look forward to networking lunches and other surprises organised by the event coordinators.
Ruiz underscored that the initiative centres on artificial intelligence talent, business digitalisation and quality, future-proof jobs for young people. He reiterated that supporting technology is a direct investment in the future of companies, youth and citizens in Elche.
