A total of 1,300 students from El Limonar International School Murcia (ELIS Murcia) and El Limonar International School Villamartín (ELIS Villamartín), located in Orihuela, have united to emphasise the importance of physical activity as a fundamental pillar of physical and mental wellbeing.
Under the motto “In Motion, We Thrive”, both centres celebrated the eighth edition of Global Be Well Day, an international event that this year placed movement and exercise at the heart of activities carried out by the educational community across the Vega Baja region of Alicante and the Region of Murcia.
The event forms part of the wellbeing programme of Cognita, the international school group to which both colleges belong, based on the six pillars of its Be Well Charter: sleeping well, eating healthily, staying active, connecting with others, participating in satisfying activities, and contributing to the wellbeing of other people.
One of the standout moments was the traditional GBWD Dance, with choreography, rehearsals, and preparation led by the team of GBWD Dancers. The day concluded with a space for reflection on shared learning and experiences.
With this new edition of Global Be Well Day, ELIS Murcia and ELIS Villamartín reinforce the integration of physical, emotional, and social wellbeing within education, promoting healthy habits that accompany students both inside and outside the classroom.
