The Hombre del Mar

With the remodelling of Paseo Juan Aparicio in Torrevieja some years ago, the Hombre del Mar monument, a tribute to the sailors from Torrevieja that represents the link between the people of the town and the sea, was moved a few metres to its current location.

The statue, which stands on a uniquely designed plinth, was the work of the Catalan sculptor Josep Ricart y Maimon.

The Hombre del Mar statue was inaugurated on May 10, 1975.
