The lifeguards will operate until late September

Well at long last we seem to have lifeguards on the Orihuela Costa Beaches.

They started work on Monday last, 15th June, far too late for some, unfortunately, but at least they will now be with us during the main holiday season, through until the 25th September.

They will be allocated according to the size and demand of each beach of course but on Campoamor, where I met up with Carlos Berra (left) and his team, there will be between 4 and 6, starting at 10am and working through until 8pm on all seven days of the week.

Each lifeguard will have the usual safety equipment as well as a 2 way radio in the event of needing help.

There will also be a number of jet ski’s operating along the coast with the one in the photo above dedicated to the beaches at Cabo Roig, Campoamor and Mil Palmeras.
