It is now confirmed that Down Syndrome swimmer Adam Stewart is the holder of 3 European records.
Down Syndrome European 800 metres freestyle ( short course ) Down Syndrome, European Open 1500 meters freestyle ( long course) and Down Syndrome Masters [25 to 34 years ] 1500 meters ( long course ).He is the first Downs swimmer to hold this record of 1500 meters [ 25 to 34 ].
The 800 was won in Southampton 10/11 May at the European DSSF Championships and both 1500 meters were gained in his home pool at the IV Control Autonomico Masters competition Torrevieja on the 31st May/1st June
Adam says thank you to the Torrevieja Masters Club, Juanma for his excellent training programme, CDM for their personal trainers help and advice, the Spanish and ExPat support and finally Pretty Neat and Stevie the Barber at the Flamenca C.C.
The delay was due to the records having to be verified by The Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation.
