The Municipality of Pilar de la Horadada, has recently acquired three new wheelchairs, 2 walkers and an adjustable bed, all of which will be added to the Loan Assistance Bank, a stock of equipment that is available in the town for those people who lack the funds to purchase their own.

The equipment was purchased following a donation of 1000 euros from the Department of Social Services.

The Bank has so far helped more than 40 families in the town and currently has further equipment including 15 adjustable beds, 10 wheelchairs and a number of walkers, much of which has been donated by local residents.

Only those individuals who are either in a temporary or permanent state of dependency and who lack the funds to purchase their own equipment are eligible to borrow items from the bank. In the first instance enquiries should be made to the Dept of Social Services.
