The project ‘Telecable Wifree’ will see the provision of a free wi-fi service to users of Levante beach.
The installation will mark the completion of the first phase of a project, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Department of Beaches and the local company Telecable, and aims to eventually bring in the free network connection along all of the municipality’s coastline.
Councillor Loreto Serrano, said that the proposed initiative will take some years, but after supplying free internet in the center of town, the council have had to slow down the process for legal reasons.
Serrano continued, “However we resumed the program with the participation of Telecable, the company awarded the telecommunications contract, and they intend to start the pilot phase of the free wi-fi on Levante Beach first before they move on to Gran Playa. "
