In the first 7 months of the year, the Policía de la Generalitat Valenciana have increased their activities by 32.85% over last year, with a total of 201,188 cases recorded.
In provincial terms, there have been a total of 115,978 activities in Valencia, 53,643 in Alicante, and 31,567 Castellón, between January and the end of July.
As for the type of activities conducted, the majority was related to citizen services with a total of 88,829, an increase of 60.12% over last year. There were 22,004 cases relating to entertainment and facilities, an increase of 18.22%, the majority of those being related to venues not having the appropriate licences for live entertainment, as well as abuses of opening hours. In addition, there were 32,264 services in the area of security and protection, an increase of 21.93%, 16,894 environmental cases, up 37.72%, and 167 related to forest fires, an increase of 101.2%.
According to the head of civil protection, Manuel Roca, the increase in the number of officers and new police stations have “facilitated the rollout and increased performances with more than optimal results each year with more efficiency, effectiveness and professionalism, whilst explaining how the data “provide a benchmark for us to be aware of the hard work and dedication of the members of the Police of the Government to safeguard the security and ensure the peace and welfare of the citizens of Valencia”.
