The Lion members of the Torrevieja Costa Lions Club took some time out from their monthly business meeting on Thursday to have a Club photo shoot with local photographer Kristoff.
The members assembled by the pool terrace at Hotel Cabo Cervera resplendant in the Club corporate colours. There was a brief moment when there was a rumour that they were being set up for an Ice Bucket Challenge, however thankfully the rumour was unfounded and the regions’ much needed water was not needlessly wasted.
Who are the Lions and what do they do?
Lion Secretary Tom Antrobus concisely summed things up when he said "Lions are ordinary people who do extraordinary things". Lions are indeed ordinary people who come together under the banner of Lions Clubs International to help those most in need in the local community, and in the event of international catastrophe such as earthquake, disease or typhoon, provide aid , food, shelter and assistance at the point of delivery where it is most needed
The Lions are recognised both locally and Internationally as one of the worlds finest Service Organisations and their motto "We Serve" is so simple but also so effective.
You too can become a Lion. If you are a person who cares for those most in need and can offer a few hours of your time every month, you too can make a difference. If you would like to learn more about your local Lions Club there are a number of very simple ways that you can do it.
