Throughout the month of November, the natural parks of La Mata and Torrevieja are offering a schedule of 15 activities, with the aim of highlighting the unique environmental and educational benefits of the area.
Within the schedule there are activities such as bird watching and nature trails to workshops, lectures and charity activities, with the main focus being to raise the awareness and value of the rich natural and cultural heritage that houses the Natural Park of La Mata and Torrevieja, reinforcing the idea of a socioeconomic motor for Natural parks.
Taking time out from promoting the destruction of the natural park after approving the construction of a new DIY store which threatens one of the most important bird colonies in the world, the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, highlighted the enormous tourism and environmental values of the Natural Park, which in 2013 attracted over 13,000 visitors and in 2014, from January to September, has already seen a total of 18,500 visitors.
Of the 15 scheduled activities, a total of 10 will be during the weekend, and all of them aimed at families to enjoy this very unique area of Torrevieja. This weekend, Saturday the 1st of November, saw the first activity launched, an educational Environmental Recycling Workshop.
