Mo and Martin Foulcer & Richard Lee, winners of the San Luis Triples comp.

Sponsored by Autos Direct, TV Choice and Venture Fleet ….. Happy New Year to all our fellow bowlers and all at the Leader newspaper, may it be a successful one.

Last week three of our members were successful winning the San Luis Triples competition, congratulations to Mo and Martin Foulcer and Richard Lee who were top of their group by winning all the five games they played, going on to beat Darren Johnson, Sabrina & Russell Marks in the semi and beating Sheila Cammack, Pat & Graham Bird in an exciting final, they were 4-8 down after eight ends, Richard converted the ninth to pick up three shots followed by another two on the tenth & final end to win 9-8. Very well done!

Success also in our first Winter League game of 2015, playing at home against top of the league Javea Green we achieved a great win of 8 points. Graham Bater, Jenny Chaplin, Mike Regan & Ian Kenyon 23-7. Olwyn Ratcliffe, Barbara Brown, Charlie Watkins & Arthur Brown 22-17. Beryl Regan, Steve Pearson, Dave Chaplin & Eric Bishop 18-14. Points 8-4. Shots 93-73.

The Berleen team had a superb win of 30-11, well done Mo Foulcer, Penny Tomkins, Ann Marie Stevenson & Peter Tomkins.

The 20-20 Knockout. Unfortunately we lost this 9-7 to MonteMar but well done to our players who won their disciplines.

Over the Christmas break we played our annual challenge Matches with Greenlands, playing one at home & one away, these are meant to be very friendly games with all the tinsel, silly hats and banter but at the end of the day we all want to win and I’m pleased to say on this occasion Vistabella won the trophy. An excellent end to 2014 and a good start to the new year for Vistabella!
