TWO COOKS FOR THREE KINGS

On 3 Kings Day at ‘Reachout’, Gill Savage and Jean Wallace pulled out all the stops to ensure the homeless enjoyed a special meal.

La Siesta Ladies Friendship Group support Gill and Jean with the expense of a weekly lunch but on this occasion the majority of the food was donated in cash or kind by others wanting to share in the event.

Two young friends, Jennifer and Katherine Gray came along with their mum Jill and helped prepare and serve the food. Not only was a 3-course meal offered but each person received 2 gifts.

Gill and Jean offer thanks to all who share and care especially at Christmas. The homeless who rely on ‘Reachout’ must be in no doubt that there is an abundance of “Goodwill to All Men” (and women!) at all times (not just Christmas).

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. The La Siesta park features all kinds of sports pitches, for football, basketball, hockey, and more, as well as the largest paved pump track in the world, according to the town hall. Torrevieja Pump Track Grand Opening
It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
