Golfers from 10 countries gathered at the Lo Romero Golf course in Pilar de la Horadada last week where they took place in the second round of Evolve Pro Tour Competition.
The participants included 37 professionals from Spain, England, Austria, Germany, Wales, Ireland , Italy, Denmark and others.
After 2 rounds the winner on +1 (145) was England’s Alex Belt who received the trophy and a cheque for € 3,000 from the mayor, José Fidel Ros. Dutch amateur Mitchell Schoorl came 2nd on +3 with Sam Forgan from England and Spain’s Diego Suazo tying 3rd a further shot behind.
The mayor said that “this was a very important tournament for both the town and for all enthusiasts of golf. It demonstrated Lo Romero’s ability to put on top class competition at their quality facilities serving to highlight the name of Pilar de la Horadada at both national and European level."
