Just a few weeks after the resounding success of "The Messiah" performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Torrevieja and the Municipal Choir Ricardo Lafuente, yet another classical concert will take place in the Torrevieja International Auditorium, this time to celebrate Europe Day.
For the very first time in Torrevieja, the public will be able to see the 9th Symphony in D minor op. 125 composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1823.
Olga Arbenina soloists (soprano), Olga Shtreys (contralto), Francisco Moreno (tenor) and Hong Soo Kim (low), are the principals in the 60 strong Municipal Choir Ricardo Lafuente directed by Mario Ignacio Bustillo.
They will be joined by 70 musicians from the Symphony Orchestra of Murcia under the direction Jose Francisco Sanchez to play one of the most significant and important works from the symphonic repertoire.
The performance will also include the Ode to Joy (Ode an die Freude) by the German poet Friedrich von Schiller.
The concert will take place on May 2 at 20.00. Tickets can be purchased through INSTANTICKET, or at the box office of the Municipal Theatre from Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 1pm or at the International Auditorium from two hours before the concert.
