Cambiemos Orihuela published its manifesto last week whilst at the same time opening a new Party HQ, just along from the Town Hall, on Calle Santa Justa, Orihuela, and just this morning, Monday 27 April, the Party presented to the public its candidates for the forthcoming Municipal Elections.
Since the formation of Cambiemos Orihuela, a merger of the United Left and the Greens on 21 January, the manifesto has been developed in on-going commissions and assemblies. It defines the party’s political commitment to the people of Orihuela and is an evolving document which recognizes the needs and conditions of the city, which includes public involvement.
While this is the framework for the much broader program, “the documents, as Ester Romero, number four on the list of candidates and representative from the coast, stated, “are the result of a participatory democracy. It has never been our intention to produce a rigid, unrealistic program behind closed doors without acknowledging and including ideas and proposals from members of the public.
