On Saturday 2nd May as part of the 10 year celebrations at Monte Mar, the provincial team played against them.
With 8 members of the Provincial squad playing for Monte Mar it was always going to be a tough match and so it proved.
The day started by welcoming 5 new players to the Provincial squad – Carole Donnellan, John Simpson, Nigel Baigent, Dennis Birkett & Jacqui Johnston. There were also 4 players who were playing their 6th game who all received a shirt with the provincial badge, sponsored by Gary Mendel of Kameeleon. Sandra Heath, Carol Broomfield, Sandie Thompson & Johnny Raby.

The Provincial Men won on 2 rinks. Mal Parsons, Barry Norris, Nigel Baigent & Mike Edwards 19-16. William Holtham John Simpson Brian Harman & Barry Latham 20-10. The Provincial ladies unfortunately only manage to win on 1 rink. Carol Broomfield, Carole Donnellan, Sandra Heath & Val Hignett 20-13. With the result being 3 rinks each it cae down to shots & the Provincial took the honours 105-98.
