Children Found Trapped in Crashed Car with Dead Father at the Wheel

Two children, aged 5 and 6, and their 27-year old mother spent the night inside a crashed vehicle in the Valencia town of Montitxelo, trapped with their father, a 36-year old man, who had been killed in the crash.

An investigation is being carried out to determine what caused the tragedy, but the vehicle left the road and overturned in a field at night.

It wasn´t until the morning that the vehicle was located by an agricultural worker, who immediately called the emergency services.

When the rescuers arrived at the scene they found the mother trapped in the vehicle, along with the girl, with the young boy outside the car in a state of shock.

All of the survivors were transferred to hospital for treatment.
