Wear a mask

The Council of Ministers has today approved the Royal Decree that eliminates the use of masks in outdoor spaces, with the approval of a Royal Decree by which the wording of article 6 is modified of Law 2/2021 that regulates its use.

Thus, as of the day following the publication of this RD in the Official State Gazette (BOE), the mandatory use of the mask in outdoor spaces in general is exempted, regardless of interpersonal distance.

As exceptions, the use of a mask will be mandatory in large events that take place in outdoor spaces when attendees are standing or, if they are seated, when a safety distance of at least 1.5 metres cannot be maintained, except groups of cohabitants. In addition, the CISNS approved last Monday the recommendation to wear a mask in outdoor spaces where there are crowds. The use of the mask indoors will not be affected by this regulatory change.

This agreement, heard by the plenary session of the SNS Interterritorial Council held this Monday, is motivated by the high rates of vaccination coverage achieved in Spain and the change in the situation in relation to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in our country.
