The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council held an extraordinary and urgent meeting this morning to approve the partial opening of a new section within the scope of the repaving and repair works of the Levante Dike. This section will be an independent functional unit with its own access points, complete routes, and all the other elements needed for public use as planned in the approved project.
Sandra Sánchez, the Councillor for Infrastructure, has said that the Technical Management’s inspections have confirmed that the work done on the section that was partially accepted was done according to the plan. Now, a new section of promenade about 250 linear metres long needs to be opened, from the “Bella Lola” plateau/viewpoint to the next plateau in the direction of the lighthouse.
The project has an area of 1,247 metres, and this second partial inauguration means that about 700 metres of it are now exposed to the public. The councilwoman said that the work would be done and handed over by the end of March.
