Zenia Boulevard shopping centre in Orihuela Costa has announced an extensive programme of events for May, blending entertainment, creativity, and education. The highlight of the month is the celebration of Geek Pride Day on 23 May, which is set to transform the centre into a hub for fans of “geek culture”.
The day will feature a variety of activities, starting with an origami workshop from 16:00 to 18:00. This will be followed by a themed parade at 17:30 and the highly anticipated cosplay competition at 19:00. The contest will reward originality, creativity, and stage presence, with prizes of up to 300 euro in Zenia Boulevard gift cards available for the winners. To participate in the workshops, visitors must be members of the Zenia Boulevard Loyalty Club for those over 16, or the Zenia Kids Club.
The May schedule also includes a celebration for Mother’s Day on 2 May. The shopping centre will host a 360-degree immersive planetarium, organised by Astroiberia, allowing visitors to explore planets, stars, and galaxies through “fulldome” projections.
On 9 May, the centre will host “Samay Day” in collaboration with La Marina Resort. This special day will be filled with children’s activities, workshops, games, and music, concluding with a family “mini-disco”.
Filipa Palhim, the marketing manager for the centre, stated that the goal is to ensure every visit is an experience, offering innovative and educational proposals designed for families. Zenia Boulevard, which opened in 2012, remains the largest shopping centre in the Alicante province, welcoming over 15 million visitors in 2025.
