The Guardia Civil has arrested a 45-year-old man in Villajoyosa on suspicion of an attempted robbery with intimidation at a local pastry shop. The suspect, who has an extensive criminal record, is also accused of carrying out three other burglaries at two different premises in the municipality.
The incident occurred on April 19th, when the individual entered the establishment with his face covered to avoid identification. Once inside, he moved behind the counter and demanded that the employee open the cash register, leading to a physical struggle between the two.
During the altercation, the man allegedly pushed the worker and brandished a pair of scissors found within the shop. However, the victim’s shouts for help forced the would-be thief to flee the scene on foot without taking any money.
Officers from the Villajoyosa Guardia Civil Investigation Area took charge of the case under the name Operation Frola. By analysing evidence and taking witness statements, investigators identified a primary suspect who was already known to them. Following an intensive search, a police operation led to his arrest on April 27th.

Further investigations linked the man to three additional robberies at two other businesses in Vila Joiosa during the same month. Following his arrest, the man was brought before the Villajoyosa Court of Instruction, which ordered his release with precautionary measures pending further legal action.
